About The Artist
Born and raised in London, my professional career began at an early age in the London theatre as a successful singer and dancer. After getting married, moving to the South of France and quitting show business to raise a family, I was looking for a new creative outlet and so I tried my hand at painting and began developing artistic skills, teaching myself to draw and paint. I came to America in 1992 and wanted to enhance my skills by taking painting classes at Montgomery College, Maryland. In 1999 I moved to Los Angeles where I continued with art classes at Santa MonicaCollege.
Today I am an award-winning artist, including 15 “American Art Awards”. My art has sold worldwide and has been featured in publications, on magazine covers, in 2 Netflix television series, in galleries and art festivals throughout California and Florida. My most recent solo exhibition was at AC Gallery (now ACCA Gallery) in Hollywood, California. Since my move in 2018, I now call Indian Wells my home.
I am so excited to participate in the La Quinta Arts Celebration as I will be among so many wonderful top-notch artists and I can’t wait to see them all! Art festivals in general have such a great variety of art but this festival has a higher standard because of the jury process and they have been selective with choosing only the best artists for the show to make it a well worthwhile visit. La Quinta Arts Festival was named #1 Fine Art Show in the Nation by the prestigious Art Fair SourceBook, the definitive guide to the best juried arts and craft fairs in the United States and has consistently ranked in the top 5 best for many years.

Inspiration comes from many places. I am so inspired by many contemporary and classic artists but also, I could be at home making the bed or doing any other daily chore and suddenly I get an image in my head for a painting. Then I cannot wait to get into the studio and begin developing my idea. The end of a painting very often will be quite different from my original idea, because as I begin to paint I get more ideas and one idea leads to another. I have experimented with all kinds of media including oil and watercolor but I always come back to Acrylic. I use the heavy body paint mostly with a knife and I love the buttery texture. I don’t use models because I am very uncomfortable making people sit or stand for a long period of time. So I tend to take photos and a very useful online tool for artists are the royalty free images that can be bought online and I use them as reference material, changing a lot of the image to suit my creation.
I am so excited to exhibit my latest painting "MESMERIZED" in the La Quinta Arts Celebration and I will be exhibiting some other recent paintings, some of them you can see here on this website. When you see my art online it has advanced features such as zooming in to any part of the painting. But when you see my art in person it is a whole different experience. You can enter into the story of the painting, see all of the textures and colors come to life and of course the size of the painting is also very important as I do have a variety of sizes and you can see them all at the La Quinta Arts Celebration.
