New to ENCORE 2024!
About The Artist
“If I could do anything, it would be to create art,” said the artist Haylee Shoop, who grew up in an artistic family. Her father was an illustrator, but she chose dance as her art form. By the time she was 20 years old, she was dancing professionally on cruise ships. That was until 2015, when Haylee randomly started drawing animals using lines and patterns. “I had no idea what “Zentangle” was or even that the kind of stuff I was drawing and painting even had a name, but I fell in love.”
January 1, 2016, she began pursuing art full time. “I love that my ‘job’ now is to draw, travel to art shows, and meet amazing people,” she enthuses. “I get to make people happy with something that I’ve created from my heart.”
In her short time as an artist, Shoop has been honored to have her art in galleries in California, and Michigan featured on two magazine covers, as well as being asked to design a poster for Tucson's 4th Ave Street Fair, St Stephen’s Art Show, and Carlsbad Artwalk.
Highlights from 2024 include the Main St Arts Festival - Fort Worth, Art Fair on the Square - Madison WI, Summer Art Fair - Ann Arbor, MI Featured Artist St Stephen’s Art Show - Coconut Grove, FL and a first place wins for the drawing categories at the St Stephen’s Art Show - Miami, River Arts Fest -Memphis, West Shore A.F - Luddington, MI.

I use watercolor in order to create a stunning effect that will later accentuate and highlight my drawing's depths and shadows. More interestingly, I then spend between 50-70 hours with a .005 Micron Pen, creating very small intricate world art inspired designs in my artwork. I challenge myself to improvise new designs in each piece I create. Over the past year I have started to embed smaller hidden drawings within the larger image in order to peak the interest of my viewers, patrons, and collectors alike.
The majority of my content is comprised of animals, a smaller portion is inspired by whichever region of the country my next art show will be held. However, all of my subject matter is chosen from what ever makes me happiest at the time!
All works are drawn and created by me, using ink over water color on cold pressed water color paper.
My Originals range from 11x14 to 18x24 Inches. After recently having a baby, I have found it satisfying to create smaller 5"x5" pieces (between diaper changes). This La Quinta Art Encore I will be debuing many of these new originals!
We look forward to seeing you at the festival!
