About The Artist
Since boyhood, I have been fascinated by nature, especially birds. I studied zoology and ornithology in college but developed a true love of nature through the lens of a camera. As i developed my artistic vision as a young photographer I had the great fortune to study with some of photography's true masters, including Ansel Adams and William Neill in Carmel, California. My studies also included work at the Death Valley Workshop with Clinton Smith. These visionaries gave me the tools, skill and insight into the artistry of photography that have guided me throughout my career.
New For Encore 2024
This last year has been a journey for me in finding new types of surfaces to print my work on. I discovered the Japanese paper made from mulberry pulp and bark called Unryu Paper. It has a great texture and feel that really enhances my work. I'll be bringing a new collection of work that is presented on this fabulous paper.
