About The Artist
Since 2008, I’ve modeled hundreds of small scale tetrahedron tower forms out of clay. I considered it a meditative practice but also hoped someday to make art in that form. I had a problem, though, working in clay when I tried to make a larger scale standing tower. The towers wouldn’t stand without cracking at the base during the drying out or firing part of the process. Eventually, I found I could work larger by combining multiples of the form in various configurations, creating both large scale ceramic sculptures and sculptural sterling silver jewelry designs, especially in the cross and X forms. Finally after twelve years of trial and error and by using what I call Sacred Geometry.
I design intuitively, using a form of Sacred Geometry. Although the Miracle Towers are of varying heights, and some are composed of multiple tetrahedrons, all are remarkable for their dynamic, vertical form. Each Miracle Tower visually expresses the miracle of flight and upward movement. The convergence of the triangles at the apex of the Miracle Tower form is counter-pointed by the stability of the perfectly balanced triangles that meet at the sculpture’s base.
