LA QUINTA, Calif. – January 22, 2020 – La Quinta Art Celebration, a new signature art event presented by SCOPE Events, LLC will debut March 5-8, 2020 at the visually stunning La Quinta Civic Center, upholding the City’s long-standing tradition of annually hosting a nationally acclaimed fine arts festival.
SCOPE Events was entrusted by the City of La Quinta to fill the void created when La Quinta Arts Festival was suddenly dropped by its promoter last spring. Vowing to “emulate and enhance” the previous festival, SCOPE Events CEO Paul Anderson (former managing director of Sausalito Arts Festival) recruited Kathleen Hughes (16 year events manager of La Quinta Arts Festival) to collaborate on this venture. With the full support of the City, their plan put in motion and the results will soon be evident. The four-day outdoor affair will showcase over 220 world-class, jury-selected artists hailing from 35 different states and abroad to exhibit their original artworks spanning 12 media categories: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing & Pastel, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood.
To commemorate the inaugural event, six Featured Artists have been selected to lend a piece of their artwork to appear on a series of collectible 2020 posters: Tom Barnes (Painting, Watercolor), Guyton, Georgia; Dolan Geiman (2D & 3D Mixed Media), Englewood, CO; Signe & Genna Grushovenko (Painting,Oils), Greenville, SC; Erin Hanson (Painting, Landscapes in Oils), San Diego, CA; Michael McKee (Painting, Pastels & Oils), Fountain Hills, AZ and David Palmer (Painting), Pasadena, CA.
Patrons will toast the new event in style with Moet Chandon at dual champagne bars, premier Napa wines—and the inclusion of sponsors Ketel One Botanical Vodka and Don Julio 1942 Tequila ensure that only top shelf spirits will be poured. Popular local restaurants will offer upscale dining options at the Celebration Bistro and a line-up of live music performances is scheduled daily. Please check the website for details.
