Artist Statement:

My strong love for design and deep appreciation for the craft of basket making came out of my background in woven furniture restoration. Years spent learning how to be patient and find the flow of intricate structures has broadened my understanding of woven objects. Weaving materials round reed, flat reed and cane are dyed with cellulose fiber dyes. A multiple step finishing process brings additional highlights and depth to the weaving. My work is a culmination of 35 years experience working with weaving materials, finishes and exploring weaving techniques.
