Born in 1982, Michael Clark grew up roaming the lake shores and wilderness near Traverse City, Michigan. He earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art and Design, prior to studying at the prestigious Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art in Chicago. Michael has an innate ability to capture what he sees outside, his contemporary impressionistic oil paintings sparkle with texture color and light.
When he’s not retreating into the colorful landscapes of Arizona’s deserts or soaking in the breathtaking views along California’s central coast, he’s gathering inspiration from the peaceful aspen groves and the picturesque Arkansas River Valley that surrounds his home in Salida, Colorado.
Michael is a national award winning artist who has been featured in Southwest Art magazine, studied alongside renowned artists at the Art Students League in Denver and is a signature member in the American Impressionist Society.
“I love color and the endless possible color harmonies I can create in a painting.”
- Michael Clark
I'm inspired by everyday beauty in the world around us and the colorful light that illuminates it. This year I spent two weeks painting in the French countryside and I am excited to be bringing these works to showcase at La Quinta. In addition I will also have other works featuring subjects such as poppies aspens and radiant sunsets all of which have been very popular with my collectors.
