Javier Niño
New to ENCORE 2024!
About The Artist
Javier Niño, 74 years young, is originallly from the Cabo Corrientes indigenous community born in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico. Javier Niño started his artistic career when he was 7 years old. His unique self taught art style became known, recognized and collected, first in his hometown and, later on, in Mexico and other countries by museums, galleries, and collectors. A descendant of fishermen, Javier Niño creates painting from a world of dreams and allegories of his people, sea, mountains, jungles and rivers. Javier in his early 20's was encouraged by local Master Artists to be the first Puerto Vallarta student to attend the Premier Academia de Arte de San Carlos in Mexico City. The most famous artists of Mexico were sent to this Academy to study, Diego Rivera, Siqueiros, Orozco.... Javier was exposed to and studied a world of International art there. He mastered academic painting but now finds it philosophically more creatively interesting to capture, reflect and share the playful beauty of nature, his memories and history thru Arte Magical in his paintings.
New Art for ENCORE 2024
Javier Nino feels life is a miracle but it is necessary to look deep into La Naturaleza to understand the beauty of life. This new series titled, Mexican Magical Realism, he is using mixed media, larger feature figures, memories and oral traditions he learned as a child to invite the observer to deeply look and feel the story, the dream and beautiful colors of life in nature and the joy in preserving. This will be the international preview of this new series at the La Quita Art Festival.
